When I think of raindrops, I think of a shower of renewed possibilities. Because when you look outside at the rain, each drop is individual and different, and there are so many possibilities in this world that are, too.

When I was a little girl on the farm, or even when I was a big girl on the farm, I loved the rain. I still love being on the farm, because you can hear the rain on the roof, and when you look outside, everything is just clean and sparkling. It gives me such a sense of peace and joy.

I’ve often thought about how each drop is different and how many raindrops there are. I mean, there are billions of raindrops, so billions of possibilities, and each rain shower brings new ones, so they never run out.

I used to sit on the balcony and watch the rain, and you think about how all those possibilities come together to make amazing things. Sometimes they run into rivers; sometimes they run into small streams that run down the pavement; and sometimes they just disappear in a splash, and that’s the end of them. When they come together and form rivers and streams, though, it’s as if the possibility becomes a reality through everyone joining. Like a business idea that grows into a company, or a family, where two people meet, and their family grows into a beautiful stream.

My best are thunderstorms. I always imagine all these wonderful creative ideas poised to rain down, but a thunderstorm adds a sprinkle of magic as the lightning dances across the sky, and it feels like everyone is clapping when you hear the thunder and drama as it builds, with the clouds rolling in, full of potential, until they literally burst. Sometimes you get instant streams and overflow, and when it’s all calm again, the world feels renewed.

Filled with endless possibilities.
